James Robert "Jim" Brugoto, 90, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 2:16 PM, Friday, March 17, 2023 at his home.
A private graveside service and interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Military Rites accorded. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
James Robert Brugoto was born October 14, 1932, the son of Sam and Gladys (Pruitt) Brugoto. Jim served his country proudly in the US Army from 1949-1953; with two years of foreign service. He married Grace Ilene Marquis May 9, 1953; together they shared 65 years of marriage and raised three sons before her passing on September 30, 2018.
Jim retired from the International Harvester Parts Warehouse in Broadview, IL. He was quite the handy-man and enjoyed tinkering with and fixing anything he could. Jim loved woodworking and growing his vegetable garden.
He is survived by sons, Roy D. (Pam) Brugoto and James E. Brugoto; daughter-in-law, Deborah Brugoto, wife of the late Robert "Bo" Brugoto; sister, Mildred "Maxine" Cox; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; neighbors, Randy & Diane Straub, Randy & Becky Pryor, and Bill Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Robert Wayne "Bo" Brugoto; one brother; and one sister.
