James Mathis' Obituary
James F.
Mathis, 76, of Cahokia, Ill., born Aug. 22, 1938, in Metropolis,
Ill., died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Vandalia, Ill. with his
family by his side.
James was
preceded in death by a daughter, Terri L. Mathis; his parents
Fayette and Elvestus, nee Atkins; one brother Gordon Mathis; two
sisters Starr Mathis and Shiloh Sanborne.
Surviving are
his wife, Vernette Mathis, one daughter, Christina M. Nevois,
three sons, James T. Mathis, John F. Mathis, and Duane R. Mathis,
two sisters Sandra Moore and Rosemary Skiles, and eight
grandchildren.
Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society
In celebration of his
life, a memorial gathering of family and friends is being planned
for a later date.
