Janet Koonce's Obituary
Janet Denise Koonce passed away at 2:39am, Monday, July 25, 2016
at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, August 1,
2016 at First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia with Rev. Josh Miller
and Rev. Daniel McDonald officiating. Visitation will be held
from 5:00-8:00pm, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Hohlt & File Funeral
Home, Vandalia and from 9:00-10:00am, Monday, August 1, 2016 at
First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia. Burial will follow
services at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. In lieu of
flowers memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Church of
Vandalia or Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation Bond County.
Janet was born May 20, 1954 in Vandalia, the daughter of Gene
and Genevia (Worstell) Adcock. She married Michael L. Koonce
on August 12, 1972 in Greenville. Janet worked as a
supervisor in the trouser department for De Moulin Apparel in
Greenville. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church
in Vandalia and loved to knit and quilt, and spend time with her
family.
She is survived by her parents Gene and Genevia Adcock of
Greenville, husband Mike Koonce of Vandalia, sons David Koonce and
wife Matyka of Mulberry Grove and Tony Koonce and wife Sarah of
Idaho Falls, ID, daughter Susan and husband Nicholas Otto of
Ramsey, brothers Dennis Adcock and wife Ann
of Grant Fork and Daniel Adcock and wife Ellen of Maryville,
sisters Connie Earnest of Greenville, Diane and husband Randy
Olgesby of Greenville, and Karla Stone of Keyesport, grandchildren
Drew Koonce and fiancé Bridget Leadbetter, Jenna Koonce, Averey,
Faith, Bobby, Luke, and Janie Koonce, Thomas and Oliver Otto, and
great granddaughter Rilee Koonce.
