Jean Schorsch's Obituary
Jean Alyce Schorsch, 81, of Vandalia passed away at 8:22am,
Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital,
Effingham, IL.
Services for Mrs. Schorsch will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday,
June 4, 2014 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia with Rev.
Carl Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held from
5:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home
in Vandalia. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery,
Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society or to Griffith Cemetery.
Jean was born August 12, 1932 in Johnston City, IL, the daughter
of Earl and Verbal Stephenson. She married Berne Schorsch on
October 21, 1956 in Encinitas, CA; he preceded her in death on
April 28, 2007. Jean was a bookkeeper for various different
companies but most recently was employed at Rural King in
Vandalia. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in
Vandalia and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her four daughters Laura and husband Duane
Willms of Brownstown, IL, Linda and husband Scott Harmon of
Yorkville, IL, Alice and husband Art Lloyd of St. Charles, IL, and
Amy and husband Jeff Carlson of Somonauk, IL; one sister Betty and
husband Marvin Boyd of Five Points, TN; grandchildren Shannon and
husband Jeremy Claycomb, Trevor Willms and wife Megan, Tresnee and
husband Eric Adams, Amber and husband BJ Marland, Hannah and
husband Griffin Francikowski, Sarah Harmon, Brianna Harmon, Manoah
Harmon, Angelina Harmon, Emily Lloyd, Brittany Lloyd, Joshua Rowe
and fiancée Angela Pitts, Justin Rowe, Christina and husband Justin
Francis, Caitlyn Rowe, and Gunnar Carlson; great grandchildren
Taylor Claycomb, Alivia Claycomb, Macy Claycomb, Brynlee Willms,
Dawson Willms, Cade Willms, Kyndal Adams, Callen Francikowski,
Timothy Marland, Ledger Rowe, Alaina Rowe, and Janelle Francis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother
Neil Stephenson.
