Joan Fackler's Obituary
Joan Ruth Fackler, 77, departed this life peacefully the
morning of 8 March, 2016 at the Altamont Lutheran Care
Center. A service of remembrance was held at 9am Saturday 12
March at St. Thomas Church in Salem, IL. She was buried at
St. Augustine's House in Oxford, MI on 14 March.
Joan was born 18 August, 1938 in New Orleans, LA, to Carl
and Helen (Henneberg) Wegener. She met her first husband,
Jim, in St. Louis while she attended nursing school and he attended
seminary. They were married in 1960 and parted by death after
sharing their lives more than 55 years. Together she and Fr. Jim
raised many sons and touched the lives of many.
Joan was preceded in death by her youngest sister Ellen, her
oldest son Victor, her parents, her aunt "Nan" (Ruth), and so many
loving and beloved family and friends.
She leaves to live in thanks, hope, and love her husband
Jim, brother Paul, sister Carol and brother-in-law Phil, sons and
daughters Tim and Nathalie, Pete, Paul and Barbara, David and
Conrad, Nathanael and Kendrea, Andy and Lisa, Tom and Margaret,
Phil and Callie, many grandchildren, and numerous loving and
beloved family, friends, and neighbors with whom she shared her
life and love.
Gifts in Joan's memory may go to the Altamont Lutheran Care
Center, St. Augustine's House, Missouri Botanical Garden, the
Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society, or wherever
you find need.
