John “Jack” Henry Lill, 81, of Ramsey passed away at his home on January 23, 2022.
Cremation rites were accorded and inurnment services will be held at 1:45 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Online condolences can be expressed at hohltandfilefh.com
John Henry Lill was born on June 16, 1940 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Herbert John and Eva Neomia (Petty) Lill. He married Georgidean Joy Grider on October 19, 1963; together they shared 46 years of marriage before her passing on December 30, 2009.
John proudly served his country from 1961-1964 in the Unites States Army. He retired from Granite City Steel where he was a forklift driver and steel worker for many years. Jack loved fishing, spending time with family, and helping on his family’s farm. After retiring he enjoyed relaxing and watching game shows on tv.
Mr. Lill is survived by children, Jane Reed of Madison, IL, John D. Lill of Ramsey, and Amy and husband Derek Stewart of FL; sisters, Jennie Bice, Rose French, and Maxine Espenhover; grandchildren, Ashley and husband Matthew Brooks, Brianne Meyer, Matthew Lill with Andi Donath, Coby Lill, and Isabella Lill; great-grandchildren, Alyvia Lill, Cecilia Brooks, and Aurora Donath; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lill and Neomia Leaf; wife, Georgidean Lill; brother, Merle “Lil Herbert” Lill; sister, Janyce Shannon; and great grandson Owen Brooks.
