Joyce J. Taylor, 80, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 4:05 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Per Joyce's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 25, 2024 at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to The Family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Joyce Jean Phelps was born on May 04, 1943 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Donald V. and Helen J. (Willis) Phelps. Joyce was an avid seamstress; working at Princess Peggy Dress Factory for nearly 20 years. She loved to crochet, read, and go shopping. Joyce cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her son, Robert Taylor Jr. of Vandalia; daughter, Robin Steinkamp of Mulberry Grove; daughter, Kelly Taylor of Vandalia; brother, Robert Phelps of Vandalia; sister, Sandra Phelps of Vandalia; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great & great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry Phelps and James Phelps.
