Joyce Ann Wise, 79, of Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Wednesday, October 02, 2024 at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 07, 2024 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating, interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home. Joyce Ann Washburn was born September 28, 1945 in Breese, IL, the daughter of George W. Washburn II and Madge L. (St. Pierre) Washburn. She married Robert David Wise January 01, 1977; together they shared 41 years of marriage before his death on August 07, 2018. Joyce retired from Vandalia Walmart after 50 years, where she worked in the fabric and crafts department. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Vandalia and belonged to the “Spool of Fun” Quilt Club where she loved to socialize with the gals while quilting.
Mrs. Wise is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janet Cook of Vandalia; step sons, Darren Wise and wife Beth of Breese, and Dean Wise and wife Lisa of Aviston; sister, Janet Belcher of Vandalia; grandchildren, Keith Cook, Jacob Cook, Brittony Cook, Kyah Cook, Sierra Cook, Raven Cook Allyson Wise, Carlee Wise, Mitchell Wise, and Ellyn Wise; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Paislee, Paxton, Landen, Dawsyn, Liam, and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kevin Cook, brother, George Washburn III; and grandson, Kaleb Cook.
