Judith Ann "Judy" Swofford, 70, Mulberry Grove, IL passed away
at 2:15am, Monday, January 19, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital Long
Term Care.
Services for Mrs. Swofford will be held at 10:00am, Saturday,
January 24, 2015 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL
with Rev. Bruce Sasse officiating. Visitation will be held
from6:00-8:00pm, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hohlt & File
Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Burial will follow in McInturff
Cemetery, Hagarstown, IL. Memorials may be made to the family
of Judy Swofford.
Judy was born March 11, 1944 in Vandalia, the daughter of Roland
"Dick" and Evelyn "Ivy" (Stone) LaDuke. She married Harold
Laverelle Swofford October 1, 1960 in Vandalia. She was a
member of the Church of Christ in Vandalia; she worked as a
seamstress and was a homemaker. Judy enjoyed photography,
gardening, bird watching, and cooking.
She is survived by husband Harold Swofford of Mulberry Grove;
son Curt Swofford & Diane of Vandalia; daughters Kathy Swofford
Emerick & Kent of Vandalia and Sandy Swofford Snider &
Scott of Salem; grandchildren Mindy Emerick Birkner &
Christopher of Carlyle, Michael Emerick & Carrie of Hoffman
Estates, Andrea Emerick Lessor & Jeremy of Pittsburg, PA,
Travis Emerick of Centralia, Brooke Sager & Donny of
Clarksville, TN, Olivia Snider of Salem, and Blake Swofford of
Vandalia; great grandchildren Corie & Hunter Sasse, Xadric
& Farelisse Lassor, Owen & Luke Birkner, Alex &
Clara Emerick and Blaire Sager; and sister Jean LaDuke Wehrle &
Kenneth of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Preceded in death by and grandson Douglas Emerick.
