Kathryn Lucille “Kathy” McCarty, 57, of Vandalia, IL, passed away the morning of Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home in rural Vandalia.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 04, 2022 at Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Interment will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, June 04, 2022 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkview Free Methodist Church or Griffith Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Kathryn Lucille Rush was born on November 01, 1964 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Raymond Lee and LJean (Garrison) Rush. At the young age of 16, she married the love of her life, Edwin A. McCarty. Married April 10, 1981; together, they celebrated 41 years of marriage and raised two children.
Kathy had many roles in life. She was the Secretary/ Co-Owner of McCarty’s Autobody in Vandalia, previously a bus driver for Head Start, and most importantly a wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. McCarty is survived by her mother, LJean Rush; husband, Ed McCarty; son, Joshua McCarty and wife, Andria; all of Vandalia; daughter, Kari and husband, Dustin Fulk of Brownstown; sisters, Sharon Elmore of Vandalia and Rhonda Stilwell of Shobonier; grandchildren, Brenton, Everlie, Quinn, and Daxton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond.
