Kenneth R. Deutsch, 82, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 02, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral
Home, Vandalia with Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00PM, prior to
the service at the funeral home. Following the funeral, cremation rites will be accorded and a burial will
be held in Mcinturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for

Kenneth Ronald Deutsch was born on July 09, 1940 in Hagarstown, IL, the son of Leona Deutsch. He
married Laqueta Joy Taylor on February 04, 1961. They celebrated 60 years of marriage and raised three
sons. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2021.
Ken enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening and fixing anything that was broken. Most of all, he enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends.
Kenneth drove a semi for Imco and Yellow Freight and also owned/operated Ken's Package Liquor for 22
years. He was a member of Masonic Temperance Lodge #16, AINAD Shriners, and the Tin Lizzie Patrol.
He is survived by his sons, Todd Deutsch & wife Sherrie and Tim Deutsch & wife Liz, both of Vandalia;
step-son, Steven Bennyhoff of Vandalia; grandchildren, Brady Deutsch of Tuscola and Megan & husband
Eric Cannon of Greer, SC; great-grandchildren, Madison Cannon and Marleigh Cannon, both of Greer,
SC.
Preceded in death by his mother; wife, Laqueta; and grandson, Jimmy Deutsch.
