Kenneth Braun's Obituary
Kenneth Leon Braun, 87, of Vandalia, passed away at 7:04pm,
Friday, November 22, 2013 at Friendship Manor of St. Elmo.
Services for Mr. Braun will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday,
November 26, 2013 at Overcup Baptist Church, rural Vandalia, IL
with the Rev. Doug Wodkta officiating. Burial will follow in
McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown, IL. Visitation will be held
from 6-8 PM, Monday, November 25, 2013 at Hohlt & File Funeral
Home, Vandalia, IL and 1 hour prior to services at Overcup Baptist
Church Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor of
St. Elmo or Overcup Baptist Church.
Kenneth was born August 10, 1926 in Bear Grove Twp. IL, the son
of John and Katy (Hoyle) Braun. He was a farmer and served in the
US Army during WWII. He married Helen "Arlene" Pryor on July
3, 1948 in St. Elmo, IL; she preceded him in death on September 9,
2010. Kenneth was a member of the Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447;
Vandalia American Legion Post #95; and Vandalia VFW Post #3862.
He is survived by his sons Steve Braun and wife Nancy and Randy
Braun and wife Terri; daughter Christy and husband Bob Warner all
Vandalia, IL; brother Donald Braun of Morton, IL; 13 grandchildren
Tina and husband John Kaiser; Curt Braun and wife Nickie; Cory
Braun and wife Marsha; Lindsay Braun; Adam Braun and wife Molly;
Ashley and husband Chad Towler; Grant Fulk; Zachary Fulk and wife
Jessica; Katy and husband Nick Strobel; Dylan Fulk and wife Krissy;
Adam Warner; Arik Warner and wife Tina; and Tony Boaz; and 17 great
grandchildren Bradyn Kaiser; Ryan Kaiser; Lauren Kaiser; Brock
Braun; Michael Braun; Conrad Braun; Harrison Braun; Freddie Towler;
Kolter Fulk; Kyler Fulk; Lacey Warner; Laban Warner; Levi Warner;
Allison Warner; Leah Warner; Sophie Warner; and Carly Warner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Maurice
and John Braun.
