Kyle Engelbrektson, 36, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at his home.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, July 05, 2023 at the First Church of God (3001 County Rd 1800 N, Vandalia, IL 62471). There will be a dinner provided afterwards. Kyle J. Engelbrektson was born on May 23, 1987 in Aurora, CO, the son of Dan S. Engelbrektson and Dawn M. (Anderson). He officially married Amanda Marie Henry on September 17, 2010. Although, they celebrated nearly 17 years together; forming their relationship on September 16, 2006.
Kyle was employed by Conagra Brands in St. Elmo; where he was a union steward, worked in both receiving and the quality department, and was a member of the safety committee (HAZMAT). Kyle found many joys in life. He loved animals, motorcycles, the mountains, playing guitar, skate/long boarding, thrift shopping, and spending time at the lake. Most of all, Kyle cherished the time spent with his family, especially his children.
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Amanda Engelbrektson; children, Deja M., Devlin J., Drake A., and Danika K. Engelbrektson, all of Vandalia; father, Dan Engelbrektson of Vandalia; mother, Dawn Rosier of Grand Junction, CO; brothers, Isaac Engelbrektson & wife Cassie of El Cajon, CA, Gustav Engelbrektson & Alexis Hilton of Vandalia, Casey Waller & wife Ashley of Fort Wayne, IN, and Cary Miller & wife PaulaMae of Shobonier; sisters, Dani Rice & husband Zane of Fort Wayne, IN and Monica Grigg & husband John of Sorento; maternal grandmother, Betty Anderson of Superior, WI; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kyle was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Waller; paternal grandparents, Kenneth & Mary Engelbrektson; and maternal grandfather, Pete Anderson.
