Lester "Buck" Ernest Arnold, 85, of Ramsey,passed away on
Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia,
IL.
Services for Buck will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 25,
2014 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia. Visitation
will be held from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, October 24, 2014 at Hohlt
& File Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Burial will be in
McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown, IL withMilitary Rites accorded by
Crawford-Hale American Legion Post # 95, Vandalia, IL.
Lester Ernest Arnold was born January 4, 1929 in Seminary Twp,
Fayette Co. Illinois, the son of Roland and Cleo (Kistler)
Arnold. He married Betty Bell Austin August 6, 1950 in
Piggott, Arkansas. Buck served in the US Army prior to
working at Arthur Young Inc. for 30 years, he then owned and
operated Arnold's Service & Repair from 1982-1994 before
retiring. He was a member of Crawford-Hale American Legion
Post # 95 for over 60 years; Vandalia VFW Post #3862; and Vandalia
Moose Lodge #1447; he was affiliated with the Lutheran faith.
Buck is survived by his wife Betty Arnold of Ramsey, son Toby
Arnold and wife Rae of Ramsey, granddaughters Elizabeth and husband
Jasper Washburn and Ashley and husband Devan Matthews, great
grandson Jaxson Washburn, four brothers and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two
sisters.
