Linda Doehring's Obituary
Linda Jane (Allen) Doehring, 80, of Brownstown, IL, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 16, 1943 to Joseph “Guy” Allen and Marjorie (Hedgepeth) Allen. She spent the majority of her years in Brownstown and graduated from Brownstown high school. Linda married Charles Doehring on November 17, 1961. They were high school sweethearts at Brownstown High School and celebrated almost 61 years of marriage. Together they share 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Linda was a career nurse for over 40 years, with geriatric care being her passion. She was an active member of Liberty Christian Church in Sefton, IL. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was a talented seamstress and avid quilter. More than all else she loved being “Granny” to her family.
She is survived by her husband Charles Forrest Doehring, son Cary Doehring and wife Stephanie, daughter Amy and husband Rick Cordell, daughter Mindy and husband David Smith, grandchildren Amber and husband Bryan Cascallares, Austin Schaal and partner Lisa, Zachary Cordell, Tori Doehring and partner Tyler, Chad Cordell and partner Samantha, Ethan Meyer, Aiden Meyer and partner Blake, Jagar Doehring, and Grayson Cordell, 9 great grandchildren, and countless cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Brother Joseph Allen, in-laws, and other family members.
Per Linda’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of, flowers or memorials, donations can be made in Linda’s name and honor to the Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County (the place where she found her beloved companion Annie) 602 W.
