Linda Riedle Gehle's Obituary
Linda (Braasch) Riedle Gehle, 102, of Vandalia, passed away on Christmas morning 2020 at Altamont Lutheran Care Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia with Pastor Michael Mohr officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Altamont Lutheran Care Center.

Linda E. Braasch was born at home on May 18, 1918 in Kaskaskia Twp. Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Lange) Braasch. She married Delmar Riedle in 1935, together they had two sons and shared 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1981. She later married Filbert Gehle in 1994 and gained two bonus sons and several grandchildren; they shared 20 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Linda was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and worked as a nurse’s aide at Fayette County Hospital for several years.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Dial of Vandalia; grandchildren, Chad Riedle, Drew Riedle, Scott Riedle, Christina Stevenson, Christopher Riedle, and David Riedle; step-sons, David Gehle and Larry Gehle; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sons, Robert Riedle and Kenneth Riedle; four brothers and two sisters.
