Lonnie Junior Whipple, 50, of Shobonier, IL, passed away at 5:45 PM, Saturday, October 08, 2022 in Vernon, IL following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 14, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Interment will follow at Farmer’s Cemetery, Shobonier. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hohlt & File Funeral Home to aide with expenses. Lonnie Junior was born on February 20, 1972 in Shreveport, LA, the son of Lonnie and Mary Christine (Cook) Whipple. Lonnie was an entrepreneur and enjoyed wood working.
He is survived by his parents, Lonnie and Mary Whipple of Shobonier; sisters, Thelma Miller with Jay Long of Carlyle, Cindy and husband Gary Geiger of Shobonier, and Bev Beck of Shobonier; “brother”, Brian Thompson of Vernon; grandmother, Betty Loy of LaClede; nephews, Micheal and wife Cindy, Gage with Nicole, Andrew with Laura, and Kyle; nieces, Destyni with Chopper, Kim with Dustin, Kirstie and husband Joe, Kayla, Kim with Trent, and Ashley and husband Hayden; aunts, Betty, Ollie, Pam with Jeff, Cathy, Barb and husband Joe, Gail and husband Scott; several great nephews, nieces, special cousins that were like siblings, and many close friends.
Preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
