Jeffrey “Lynn” Brown, 76, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Vandalia, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at her home, surrounded by family.
Per Lynn’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded. A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County or the Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus. Jeffrey Lynn was born on November 16, 1948 in Bethesda, MD, the daughter of Joe and Mildred Lunceford. She married Charles David “Chuck” Brown on February 02, 1970 in Conway, SC. Together, they had three daughters and celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing on January 03, 2016.
Lynn retired from Owen’s Brockway as a customer service representative after 30+ years of employment. Lynn, a passionate animal lover, was the founder of Second Chance Animal Rescue, dedicating significant time and resources to its establishment. She also volunteered for the Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus. With a huge heart for both animals and people, she helped families in need whenever possible, especially during the holidays. Lynn loved her family, all animals, crocheting, gardening, and canning. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #1447, Vandalia and lady noble of the AINAD Shrine.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Lenderman of Opelika, AL; daughter, Brandi Bolyard with Jay Standish Jr. of Ocala, FL; brother, Tommy Thompson and wife Suzy of Norwood, NC; grandchildren, Chad Brown and wife Renee of Vandalia, Jessica Bays and husband Dustin of Paris, TX, Jake Willis and wife Kara of Paris, TX; Kourtney Callahan and husband Jordan of Vandalia, and Hailey Lenderman of Opelika, AL; great-grandchildren, Mark, Jarrett, and Charles; beloved canine companion, Belle; extended family and friends.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Stephanie Carter.
