Marcia L. Eckhardt, 75, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Saturday, June 08, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2024 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice. Marcia Lynn Poland was born on August 10, 1948 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of James L. “Jim” and Norma D. (Hunter) Poland. Marcia retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections, where she was employed at Vandalia Correctional Center. After retirement, she enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Ms. Eckhardt is survived by her daughter, Becky and husband Justin Arndt of Ramsey; daughter, Mandy Woolsey of Vandalia; sister, Deloris Murphy of Wildwood, MO, grandchildren, Zayne Nash, Jaicob (Taylor) Arndt, Kendrick Woolsey, Bailey (Riley) Herron, Hollace Eckhardt; extended family and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kay Holaday.
