Margaret Austin's Obituary
Margaret E. Austin, 85, of Vandalia passed away at 3:48pm,
Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her home in Vandalia.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 2,
2016 at Haley Chapel United Methodist Church, Bluff City with
visitation from 9:00-11:00 prior to the service at the
church. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haley Chapel United
Methodist Church, Haley Chapel Cemetery, or Fayette County Cancer
Fund.
Margaret was born February 28, 1931 in Detroit, MI, the daughter
of Ray and Marjorie (Washburn) Stine. She married Carl Austin
on July 29, 1950 in Jeffersonville, IN.
Margaret mostly worked in sales and retail throughout the years.
Her real passion was being a mother, grandmother, and great
grandmother. She loved working in her yard and helping at
church.
She is survived by her daughter Carla and husband Tom Diveley of
Vandalia; grandsons Darren Matzker and special friend Shannon of
Lake St. Louis and Todd Matzker of Brownstown; and great
grandchildren Zakkary Matzker son of Ryan Matzker and Nora Matzker
daughter of Todd Matzker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2000, son
Chris Austin in 1975, and grandson Ryan Matzker in 2001.
