Margene Kistler's Obituary
Margene Lavon Kistler, 88, of Vandalia, died at 10:41 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in
Effingham.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at
Overcup Baptist Church in rural Bluff City, with the Rev. Doug
Wodtka officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in
Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of
services on Friday at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in
Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Overcup Baptist
Church.
Mrs. Kistler was born on March 29, 1924, in Vandalia, the
daughter of Ira and Bacie Rahn Hobler. She married Delbert D.
Kistler on Jan. 1, 1945, in Vandalia.
She worked at Princess Peggy Dress Factory
and Brockway Plastics, both in Vandalia. She was a member of
Overcup Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; sons,
Delbert Kistler Jr., and Kent Kistler and his wife Robin of
Vandalia; daughter, Kay and her husband Marlin Summers of
Brownstown; grandchildren, Bryce Kistler, Eryn Meyer and Kelly Jo
Gardner; and great-granddaughter, Miranda Meyer and Ella Faith
Meyer
She was preceded in death by her parents;
brothers, Wally Hobler and Bill Hobler; and an infant sister Beulah
Hobler.
