Marjorie Johnson's Obituary
Marjorie A. Johnson, 91, of Vandalia passed away at 10:40am,
Friday, March 27, 2015 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday,
April 1, 2015 at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in
Vandalia.  Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia,
IL.  Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or to the
donor's choice.  Hohlt & File Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Marjorie was born November 7, 1923, the daughter of George and
Mildred (Ayers) Sakach.  She married Walter G. Johnson June
29, 1941 in Vandalia, IL.  She worked as a nurses aide at
Fayette County Hospital; worked at Johnson Stephens Shinkle shoe
Factory in Vandalia and was co-owner of Johnson Specialty
Company.  Marjorie was a faithful sponsor to the Christian
Foundation for Children and Aging and to St. Joseph's Indian
School. She was a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church,
Catholic Women, and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Walter Johnson of Vandalia, son
Mike Johnson of Vandalia, daughters Patricia Wefer of McDowell, VA
and Terry and husband Randy Thomas of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Walter Johnson
Jr., sisters Esther, Alvina, Georgia and infant sister Janet.
