Marvin served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged after proudly serving his country. Shortly after serving in the Army, Marvin met and married the love of his life Edwina Sue Durbin on May 14th, 1976; together, they shared 49 years of marriage. His loving wife passed away on April 12th, 2024, he so deeply loved and missed her after her passing and not a day went by that he didn't think about her.
Marvin worked various jobs during his life from the hog farms in Kentucky to being assistant manager at Ron's Amoco to Crane Packing/Van Seal to being co-owner operator of Dunn's Mowing along with his wife Sue. But the job he loved the most was being Pop and Grandpa.
Marvin's hobbies were riding motorcycles, classic cars, fishing, and watching old westerns and car shows. He loved to buy and sell anything and everything; he called it "wheeling and dealing"! Marvin and Sue also had many faithful companions over the years. They loved their toy poodles, Pepper, Dolly and Dolly Jr a.k.a. DJ.
Marvin was a kind ole soul who never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He helped many family members throughout the years. He was liked by all that met him and developed numerous friendships.
Marvin is survived by his son Michael (Brande) Dunn; 4 grandchildren, Joey, Alex, Mercy and Tessa; 5 great-grandchildren, Gabbie, Katy, Gracie, Eli, and Trinity; nieces, Anita (Boone) Taul, Lynn (Jay) Russell, Henrietta (Richard) Hodge, Kathy Dunn, and Tina Jo Dunn; nephews, James (Misty) Duncan, Chris (Julie) Duncan, Thomas Dunn, and Marvie Dunn.
