Mary Margaret “Margie” Trout, 78, of Vandalia, Illinois passed away at 10:55 AM, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Per the request of the family, cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be held at a later date with interment taking place in Bethlehem Cemetery, Mulberry Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Mary Margaret Schlenker was born on May 05, 1942 in Jordan, Montana, the daughter of Oscar and Rose (Zigley) Schlenker. She married Benjamin A. Trout Jr. on July 13, 1964. Together, they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing on September 26, 2009.
Margie was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Mrs. Trout is survived by her son, Robert Trout and wife Andrea of Vandalia; granddaughter, Jennifer Spinner of Vandalia; and brother, David Schlenker of Jordan, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Janet Trout; brother, Milton Schlenker; and sisters, Patsey Ford, Terri Chilcote, and Irene Thompson.
