Mary Reed's Obituary
Mary Lillian (Hathaway) Reed, 74, of Vandalia, IL passed away
at3:39am, Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Fayette County Hospital Long
Term Care.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00am,
Thursday, April 25, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery, St.
Peter, IL with Pastor William Emrick officiating. Memorials
may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart
Association.
Mrs. Reed was born February 25, 1939 in Sandoval, the daughter
of Robert J. and Mabel R. (Watkins) Hathaway. She married
Howard Reed on November 3, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in
Vandalia. She was an in home healthcare provider and a member
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Peter, IL.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her daughters Penny Reed of Vandalia
and Sandy Cothran of Desloge, MO; sisters Ruth and husband David
Dugan of Mulberry Grove, IL and Evelyn Talbot of Vandalia, IL;
brother Wayne Hathaway and wife Betty of Vandalia, IL;
grandchildren Nick Jupin, Jennifer Bleckler, and Ashley Smith; and
10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter
Sheila Reed, brothers Maurice Hathaway, Eugene Hathaway, and an
infant sister.
