Michael David Burtschi, 51, of Vandalia, passed away on April 23, 2023.

Michael David Burtschi was born November 19, 1971 in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert David Burtschi and Barbara Jean Probst. Mike was a union painter for IUPAT - International Union of Painter’s and Allied Trades District Council 58 and Painters Local Union 46. While living in Vandalia, Mike worked as a construction tradesman; working various handyman type jobs. Mike’s true passion was spending time with his family and friends at his family’s lake lot.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jean (Probst) Marty of Vandalia; sons, Shaun Burtschi and fiancé Jaclynn Cason of Poplar Bluff, MO, Zackery Thompson of Vandalia, and Lain Hawthorne of Vandalia; daughter, Jordan Burtschi of Van Buran, MO; sister, Michelle and husband Allen Ensinger of Lafayette, IN; half-sister, Jennifer Marty of Houston, TX; grandson, Noah Michael Burtschi of Poplar Bluff, MO; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert David Burtschi; grandparents, Irvin and Marian Probst and Bob and Jean Burtschi.
