Morgan Pryor Sr.'s Obituary
Morgan Wade Pryor Sr., 71, of Brownstown, passed away on August
9, 2014 at Lakeland Healthcare Center in Effingham.
Services for Morgan Pryor Sr. will be held at 10:00 am,
Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the First Christian Church of
Brownstown with Rev. Kevin Bonifacius officiating. Visitation
will be held from 5:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Hohlt
& File Funeral Home, Vandalia and 1 hour prior to services at
the church Thursday. Burial will follow in Griffith Cemetery,
Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the Golden Years Club of
Brownstown or First Christian Church Building Fund.
Morgan Sr. was born June 29, 1943 in rural Vandalia, the son of
Harold and Bess (Young) Pryor. He married Phyllis (Miller)
Pryor on May 12, 2006 in Brownstown. Morgan worked as a
salesman for Standard Life Insurance and Woodsman of the World and
was a sales manager for Richardson Bros. Greenhouse in St.
Elmo. He was a member of the First Christian Church of
Brownstown, past volunteer for Brownstown Fire Department, has
served on the Fayette County Board and Village Board of Brownstown,
member of Fayette County ESDA and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Miller) Pryor of Brownstown;
son Morgan Pryor and wife Becky of Grinnell, IA; daughter Christine
Pryor and fiancé Joseph Gallo of Phoenix, AZ; step children Deborah
Baker, George Lensgraf, Siri Lensgraf, Lisa and husband Bruce
Benedict, Zachary Lensgraf, Thomas Lensgraf, Molly and husband Troy
Holladay; brothers Preston Pryor and wife Lynn of Springfield and
Spencer Pryor and wife Cindy of Altamont; grandchildren Taylor and
husband Trent Casey, Lane Thompson and Luke Thompson; great
grandchildren Gunner, Addie and Brodie Casey; step grandchildren
Carey Buxman, George Lengraf, Sunny Lensgraf, Chase Dooley, Logan
Dooley, Max Dodson, Emily Lensgraf, Sabrina Lensgraf, Payton
Malcom, and Fiona Holladayand 8 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Keith
Pryor.
