Myron Leon Sandiford was born July 17, 1961, in Terre Haute, Indiana, one of eleven children of Rexall and Roberta (Wolfe) Sandiford. He married Kim Rayné (Carruthers) on August 26, 2017. Together, they each gained bonus children and grandchildren and shared 8 years of marriage.
Myron spent most of his career in the oil industry, holding positions with Glover Oil Field Service Inc. and PETCO Petroleum Corporation, from which he later retired. Myron was quite the character with a blunt, opinionated nature. He enjoyed teasing friends and family, and being ornery; his infectious laugh brought others joy. He loved traveling—often for gambling, socializing and enjoying drinks with good company. He enjoyed taking nieces and nephews mushroom hunting when possible. Despite a stubborn streak, he had a generous heart, contributing to many organizations and benefit events. He loved his dogs and gathered a collection of 56 quilts over the years. Myron was also an active member of the Vandalia Moose Lodge No. 1447.
He will forever be remembered by his wife, Kim Sandiford of Vandalia; daughter, Angela and husband Thomas Blackington of Murphysboro, TN; son, Travis Sandiford of Montana; step-son, Eric Ward and wife Jamie of Vandalia; step-daughter, Cinde and husband J.R. Carroll of Shobonier; siblings, Chuck Sandiford and wife Sandy, Danny Sandiford and wife Micki, Connie and husband Morris Drum, Mike Sandiford, Paul Sandiford and wife Pam, David Sandiford and wife Lori, Steven Sandiford and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Alexis, Calyssa, and Bailynn; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Harold Sandiford and Eugene Sandiford; and his sister, Linda Sandiford.
