Nancy Lewis' Obituary
Nancy Elizabeth (Thompson) Lewis, 72, of Vandalia, passed away
at 9:38am, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Fayette Co. Hospital,
Vandalia.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 19,
2015 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL with
Pastor Krista Stokke officiating. Visitation will be held
from 9:00-11:00am, Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. James
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL. Burial will follow
in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials may be made to the
St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church or Second Chance Animal
Rescue.
Nancy was born September 30, 1942 in Vandalia, the daughter of
Donald and Ruth (Campbell) Thompson. She married Michael
Lewis on January 11, 1986 in Vandalia, he preceded her in death
November 14, 2011. Nancy worked as a secretary for the City
of Vandalia before retiring, she was a member of St. James
Evangelical Lutheran Church, member of the Order of Eastern Star,
Melrose and Effingham Chapters, and she loved her two faithful dogs
Sophie and Bella.
Nancy is survived by her son William Todd Cearlock and husband
Steven Happel of Dallas, TX; step-son Tim Lewis of Litchfield, IL;
step-daughter Cynthia Lewis of Litchfield, IL; brother George
Thompson and wife Judy of Temecula, CA; sister Melinda and husband
Ed Garrison of Vandalia, IL; and sister-in-law Pat and husband Bill
Hoffman of Vandalia, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant
children Elizabeth Ann and Jon Thomas.
