Nita Schukar's Obituary
Nita R. Schukar, 82, of Shobonier, IL, passed away peacefully at 6:45 AM, February 08, 2024 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Augsburg with Pastor Timothy Landskroener officiating. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Hohlt and File Funeral Home or to an organization of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Nita Raye Crown was born on August 30, 1941 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of John Vincent “JV” and Edna Leone (McCall) Crown. She married the love of her life, Dennis Elmer Schukar, on June 06, 1959. Together they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage.
Nita was a homemaker; helping raise she and Dennis’ four onery sons. For 30 years, during this time, she was employed by Bob Schroeder’s Baseball Card Collectibles Inc. in Shobonier. Nita found enjoyment in playing cards with family, reading, putting puzzles together, and finding the hidden objects in her many computer games. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Nita ultimately cherished the time spent with her husband, sons, and grandchildren.
Mrs. Schukar is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Schukar of Shobonier; sons, Jerry Schukar and wife Laura of Shobonier, Scott Schukar and partner Jeff Jackson of Greenville, Brian Schukar and wife Deanna of Vandalia, David Schukar and wife Michelle of Vandalia; brother, Robert Crown and wife Donna of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Quentin Schukar and wife Jennifer, Austin Schukar and wife Ashley, Lexie and husband Rusty Bick, Errol Walker, Robert Suchman, Abby Suchman, Scott Hull and wife Bre; great-grandchildren, Jayce Schukar, Connor Schukar, Sophie Schukar, Christine Snider, Addalynn Hull, Josie Hull, & Remi Hull.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jimmie K. Crown & John Crown.
