Owen L. Thacker's Obituary
Owen L. Thacker, 94, of rural Mulberry Grove, IL passed away at 11:15 PM, Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Fayette County Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, rural Mulberry Grove. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2018 also at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery.
Owen L. Thacker was born on November 13, 1923 in Bear Grove Township, IL, the son of Jarriette G. and Lola E. (Merriman) Thacker. He married Gladys A. Largent on May 27, 1944; she preceded in death on June 20, 2006. Owen spent his livelihood as a farmer and trucker driver. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia.
He is survived by his son, Gordon Thacker and wife Carolyn of Mulberry Grove; daughter, Brenda and husband Gary Haupt of Mulberry Grove; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Michael Garrison, Eric Haupt and wife Christina, Ty Henrichsmeyer and wife Cassandra, and Travis Henrichsmeyer and wife Samantha; and great-grandchildren, Colten Garrison, Austin Haupt, Logan Henrichsmeyer, Bex Henrichsmeyer; Austin Henrichsmeyer, and Traeten Henrichsmeyer
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Lowell Wayne Thacker; brother, Oral Thacker; and sisters, Lela Lawler, Alta Ernest, and Opal Oldham.
