P. Elaine Torbeck's Obituary
Phyllis Elaine Torbeck, 66, of Vandalia, passed away at 8:48pm,
Friday, June 27, 2014.
Services for Elaine will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, July 2,
2014 at First Baptist Church of Vandalia with Rev. Robert Weaver
and Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from
6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church of
Vandalia and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday. Burila will
follow the service in Myers Cemetery, Herrick, IL. Memorials
may be made to the family of Elaine Torbeck.
Elaine was born June 8, 1948 at her family home in Fillmore, the
daughter of Charles and Berneice (Work) Horn. She was a
Certified Nurse's Assistant and worked in the Home Health Care
Field and a member of First Baptist Church of Vandalia. When she
wasn't working she was always taking care of one of her many
grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She also was known for
being an animal lover; recently she had cared for some orphaned
kittens.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her sons Jerry Klekamp and wife
Mandi of Bolivar, MO, Frank Klekamp of Vandalia, Stoney Lewis and
wife Trisha of Vandalia, Brandon Hicks of Vandalia, and Tracey
Torbeck of Vandalia; her daughter Stephanie Torbeck of Springfield,
MO; brothers George Work of Vandalia and Charles "Fred" Horn of
Bingham; sisters Sandra Dorsey of Shelbyville, Patty Horn of
Taylorville, and Debbie Baldock of Ramsey; several grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Terry
Lewis.
