Paula Jean Beck, 71, of Vandalia, IL, passed away the evening of Wednesday, July 09, 2025 at her home, surrounded by family.
Per Paula’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a private interment will be held in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Paula Jean Davison was born July 01, 1954 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Charles Henry and Francis Pauline (Lansford) Davison. She married Danny Lee Beck on October 21, 1972; together they raised three children and celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing on May 05, 2023.
Paula was, above all, a devoted mother. She dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom until her three children grew older. Later, she pursued further education and became a licensed practical nurse. Paula worked at the Altamont Lutheran Care Center for 30 years until her retirement.
Paula was a true homebody, finding joy in reading countless novels. She had a deep love for all animals and cherished the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Paula Beck is survived by her son, Jeremy Beck & wife Mary Alice; daughters, Sarah & husband Kenny Long Jr. and Dana & husband Jim Smith, all of Vandalia; sister, Patsy Phipps of Springfield; 8 grandsons, Matthew Beck & Hayley, Jakob Beck & Chelsea, Ejay Beck, Eli Beck & Makayla, Wyatt Beck & Tori, Garrett Long, Dalton Smith & Kayla, Devin Smith; great-grandchildren, Anberlin Smith,
Kynlee Smith, Zoe Beck, Austin Beck, Adalynn Beck, Ellie Beck; and her beloved canine companion, Lulu.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
