Phyllis Elaine Settle's Obituary
Phyllis "Elaine" Settle, 75, of Surf City, N.C., died on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center from complications related to her COPD.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL.
Elaine was born on Dec. 23, 1943, in Orange County, Calif., the second of four children born to Wayne and June (Strobel) Metzger. She married Jim Settle in 1965 in Vandalia.
She is survived by her son, Tod (Gabrielle) Settle of Surf City, N.C.; grandchildren, Cassandra (Zach) Washington and Alena Settle, both of Surf City, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Kaylei, Aiden and Reece Washington; brother, Tommy (Carol) Metzger of Midway, Ark.; sister, Kim (David) Simmons of Grants Pass, Ore.; brother-in-law, Richard Settle of Hollywood, Calif.; and the family cat, "Susie Q," aka "Claudia Joy," aka "Skizzy."
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; little brother, Timmy; and stillborn son, Greg.
