Ray Sapp's Obituary
Raymond “Ray” Sapp, 59, of Shobonier passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
In accordance with Ray’s wishes, cremation rites will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at New Horizons Church, St. Elmo with Rev. PeeWee Denton officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Raymond Kent Sapp was born December 13, 1961 in Vandalia, the son of James Edward and Grace Laverne (Keppler) Sapp. He married Marie Thompson on February 23, 1991; together they shared 30 years of marriage. Ray was an Industrial Technician for Clean Uniform Company out of Highland. He loved riding his motorcycle, having cookouts and bonfires with friends, but most importantly he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Laverne Harrison of Vandalia; wife, Marie Sapp of Shobonier; daughter, Nicole Sapp and boyfriend Dalton Byars of Odin; sons, Ryan Sapp and wife Britney of Vandalia and Dylan Sapp and wife Kaylee of Brownstown; brother, Jim Sapp and wife Linda of Hillsboro; sister, Pam and husband Clay Jones of FL; grandchildren, Doriana Scott and Cordello Curry both of Odin.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Sapp and brother, Steven “Moe” Sapp.
