I was Rheana's teacher at Vandalia Elementary. I had her when she was in second grade. She was always such a smart girl with incredible potential. She was so intelligent that I created a special notebook for her to work on, which had more challenging activities for her to do because her reading and math levels at that time, were way beyond the second grade. She would work on that book when she had extra time.
At the beginning of school that year she was somewhat shy and reserved, but as time went on and she made more friends and realized how much I cared about her, she became more positive and was much happier. She always knew even through all of her trials and tribulations, I was there to listen and support her.
I was so sad to hear about her passing. I no longer live in the area so thankfully my friends back at VES let me know. I am so very sorry for your loss. God Bless you all during this difficult time. I will remember Rheana forever and keep her in my heart...
Mrs. DeMoulin, former VES Second Grade teacher.
