Roma Lee Engle's Obituary
Roma Lee Engle, 84, of Brownstown, passed away at 1:25am,
Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.
Services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at
Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia. Visitation will be held
from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, November 28, 2014 at Hohlt & File
Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services Saturday. Burial
will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown, IL. Memorials
may be made to the donor's choice.
Roma Lee was born December 6, 1929 in Vandalia, the daughter of
Thomas and Cora Richards Jarrett. She married Kenneth Engle
November 8, 1948 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; he preceded her in
death May 16, 1987. She was a former cashier at Day and Night
Grocery Store in Vandalia; she helped her husband on the family
farm, and was a believer in the Methodist faith.
Roma Lee is survived by her daughter Rae and husband Toby Arnold
of Brownstown; granddaughters Elizabeth and husband Jasper Washburn
of Brownstown and Ashley and husband Devan Matthews of Vandalia;
great grandson Jaxson Washburn of Brownstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nina
Ray, and brothers Tom Jarrett and Everett Jarrett.
