Ron Nash's Obituary
Ronnie “Ron” Nash, 78, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 4:52 AM, Monday, September 22, 2025 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care, surrounded by his wife and daughter, after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Per Ron’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Family Worship Center, Vandalia with Pastor Tracy Zimmerman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Agape Home & Foreign Missions, Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care Activity Fund, or Fayette County Health Department Home Health & Hospice. Ronnie Ray Nash was born on April 27, 1947 in Peoria, IL, the son of Hubert and Sylvia (Beers) Nash. He married Rhonda Paulette (McMain) Henna on March 03, 2000. Together they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
Ron dedicated his entire life to the timber industry, cutting, logging, and trucking timber across multiple states. He was the proud owner and operator of R.N. Lumber Inc. in Ramsey for many years. Ron had a passion for classic cars, particularly his cherished “Starsky & Hutch car.” As an avid NASCAR fan, he rarely missed a race. He also enjoyed watching old westerns, with a special fondness for Gunsmoke. A lover of music, Ron appreciated the tunes of Elvis Presley and Southern Gospel. Above all, he treasured his family and cherished the time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Ron was also a devout and faithful member of Agape Word Fellowship.
He will forever be remembered by his wife, Rhonda Nash of Vandalia; daughters, Tonna and husband Duane Dugan of Vandalia, Brandi and husband Jeremy Kelly of Mt. Olive, Casey and husband Tim Wilson of Vandalia; son, Dustin Nash of Ramsey; brothers, Jim Nash, Rich Nash and wife Vicky, Dave Nash and wife Patty; sisters, Sharon and husband Wayne Johnson, Shirley Beaman, Mary and husband Kevin Groendyke; grandchildren, Micah (Brandon) Hamm, Hannah Dugan, Morgan (Josiah) Roberts, Ryan (Brianna) Kelly, Maresha Mitchell, Kegan (Mica) Mitchell, Hailee (Bobby) Watts, Breklyn (Frank) Boger, Jacob (Lily) Wilson, Hannah Nash, Shelby Nash, Brandon Nash, and Ashton Nash; great-grandchildren, Mila and Lincoln Hamm, Jensen Roberts, Rhett and Beau Kelly, Leeland and Kashton Mitchell, Robert and Aubreigh Carrell, Aurora and Rowan Watts, Braylon and Isabella Rogers, Malakai Wilson, and Malakhi Nash; extended family and many friends.
Mr. Nash was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brandon Nash; brothers, Jody Nash, Troy Radford, Gary Nash, Chuck Nash, and a great-grandson, Kane Hans.
Ron's family would like to thank and express great gratitude to all the healthcare workers and employees of Fayette County Hospital and LTC for taking such wonderful care of him during his battle with Parkinson's.
