Ross Hill's Obituary
Ross Dale Hill, 79, of Vandalia passed away at 1:55pm, Thursday,
November 21, 2013 at his home.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wed. November 27, 2013 at
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Jerry Bagwell
officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to
services at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel
Cemetery, Ramsey, IL. Memorials may be made to Fayette County
Healthcare Hospice.
Ross was born February 27, 1934 in Ramsey, the son of Rev. Owen
S. and Frieda (Williams) Hill. He married Gyula Oldham on
March 13, 1954 in Vandalia. He worked for the City of
Vandalia as the Sexton of Fairlawn/South Hill Cemetery and was a
member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Gyula; sons Rick Hill and wife Faye
and Jeffery Hill and wife Chris; daughters Kelly and husband Doug
Klein and Tracy Lash all of Vandalia; 7 grandchildren; 3 step
grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Nelson Hill,
Victor Hill, and Neil Hill; sisters Doris Marsh, Nola Vanmeter, and
Lois Spires.
