Thelma Alton's Obituary
Thelma I. Alton, 95, of Vandalia passed away at 9:33am,
Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term
Care.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, September 16,
2014 at Crown Point Community Church with Rev. Pete LeDuc
officiating.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services
at the church.  Burial will follow at Noffsinger Cemetery,
Mulberry Grove, IL.  Memorials may be made to Fayette County
Health Dept Hospice
Thelma was born November 14, 1918 in Pleasant View Twp. Macon
Co. IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Minnie (Smith) Moore. 
She married Melvin I. Alton on November 28, 1936 in Effingham Co.
IL.  She worked on the farm with her husband and was a
homemaker. 
She is survived by her sons Nick Alton and wife Diane and Scott
Alton and wife Edna all of Vandalia and Roy Alton and wife Linda of
Centralia; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Melvin
Alton Jr., and two brothers.
