Tom Philpot's Obituary
Tommy J. "Tom" Philpot, 77, of Vandalia passed away at 5:15am,
Friday, April 3, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center Springfield.
Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the
First Pentecostal Church in Vandalia with Pastor Daniel McDonald
and Pastor Tom Fedrigon officiating. Visitation will be held
from 5:00-7:00pm, Monday, April 6, 2015 at the First Pentecostal
Church in Vandalia and 1 hour prior to services Tuesday at the
church. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Tom was born July 31, 1937, in Vandalia, the son of James and
Pearl (Benefiel) Philpot. He married Sharon Edwards on
October 8, 1960; she preceded him in death on December 4,
1995. Tom was an independent distributor for Prairie Farms,
Meadow Gold, Pevely Dairy Co. and Sealtest Dairy. He was a
past Fayette County Board Member and past member of the Vandalia
Moose Lodge #1447. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to
deer camps with his sons, and golfing, but most of all he loved
spending time with his grandkids.
Tom is survived by his sons Brady Philpot and wife Deb of St.
Elmo, Tommy Philpot and wife Lisa of Brownstown, and Jimmy Philpot
and wife Misty of Vandalia; daughter Mary and husband Shane
Graumenz of St. Peter; brother Charles "Pud" Philpot and wife
Ramona of Vandalia; sister Mardell Carpenter of Vandalia; and
grandchildren Allyssa, Zeke, Trevor, and Cooper Philpot of
Brownstown, Tessa and Nate Philpot of St. Elmo, Gracie, Saige, and
Max Philpot of Vandalia, and Carlie and Brody Graumenz of St.
Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter
Stephanie Philpot, brother Donald Philpot, and infant brother Billy
Frank.
