Varlin Dean Huddlestun, 68, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 6:35 PM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service honoring Mr. Huddlestun will be held at 7:00 PM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Hohlt and File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Family of Varlin Huddlestun for aide in funeral expenses.
Varlin Dean Huddlestun was born August 21, 1949 in Pleasant Mound, the son of Wilbert Eli and Elsie M. (Jackson) Huddlestun. Varlin was formerly employed by D&L Disposal, L.L.C in Greenville. He is survived by his daughters, Hope Basford of Assumption, Terri McConahay of Pontiac, Mindy Noll of St. Elmo, Bambi Huddlestun of Ramsey; sons, Brandon Huddlestun, Andrew Huddlestun and Frank Huddlestun, all of Vandalia; brothers, Wilbert Huddlestun Jr, Gene Huddlestun of Taylorville, Wesley Huddlestun of Lincoln, Gary Huddlestun of Moweaqua, and Larry Huddlestun of St. Elmo; sister, Diane Hicks of Brownsville, TN; several grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Huddlestun; mother, Elsie (Jackson) Huddlestun; step-mother, Josephine Huddlestun; siblings, Alvina, Shirley, Delbert, Alfred, Mabel, David, and Alvin; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
