Vicki Sue Bogart was born on August 29, 1951, in Salem, MO, the daughter of Russel Raymond and Virginia Nadine (Sawyer) Bogart. She married Daniel L. Burtschi III on March 13, 1982, and together they shared over 35 years of marriage until his passing January 29, 2018.
Vicki worked several jobs during her life to help support her family, including delivering auto parts, waitressing, and management, but she was most known for her smiling face and leadership at the Vandalia Ponderosa Steakhouse, where she mentored many young people during her fifteen years there.
Vicki enjoyed reading mysteries and about history. She was also a fan of Jeopardy!, crime shows and movies and was quick to share a quote from the movie Tombstone when the mood struck her. Going to the casino was a favorite pastime when she wasn’t diving into a new book or spending time with her grandchildren. A child of God, she was baptized at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia Walker of Vandalia; sons, Paul Bone and wife Heidi Strobel of Denton, TX, Jason Bone and wife Jennifer of Vandalia, Daniel Tyler Burtschi of Pleasantville, IA; brothers, Dennis Bogart, Kenny Bogart and wife Kathy, and Clint Walker; grandchildren, Wyatt Bone, Genevieve Bone, Megan Koonce, Gracie Bone, Reiley Bone, Henry Burtschi, and Charlotte Burtschi.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father.
