Virgil "Tom" Crane's Obituary
Virgil "Tom" Crane, 75, of Vandalia, died at 9:02 p.m. on
Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Graveside services were held at 11:20 a.m.
on Tuesday at McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown, with the Rev. Harry
Kirk officiating. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of
services on Tuesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia.
Memorials: Donor's choice.
Mr. Crane was born on May 22, 1936, in
Vandalia, the son of Virgil L. and Eloise V. Jarrett Anderson.
He graduated from Greenville College with
a bachelor's degree in teaching in 1960, and worked and retired
from teaching in Fayette County. He was a member of First
Pentecostal Church in Vandalia.
He is survived by sisters, Judy and her
husband Don Dothager of Vandalia, and Carolyn McDowell and her
fiancé Dave Heimer of Ramsey; and brother, Gary Crane of
Millstadt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a
brother, Larry Crane; and a sister, Shirley Hoffman.
