Dearest Jean and Betty,
All I can think about was what a busy guy Darrell was. After he retired, I think he even did some painting for me. And how he loved to talk. Jean, I remember when you lived on the corner of Fillmore and Seventh Streets. Betty, I think of you often and just need to call and tell you to come over. This has to be hard for you too.
We left for our winter home on January 13 or I would have been at the service to extend my deepest sympathy in person. Hugging you both from across the miles.
