Dean Ruff's Obituary
Dean Thomas Ruff, 86, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away at
8:00am, Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, MO
surrounded by family.
Per Dean's wishes he will be cremated and a burial will be held
at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lung Cancer Research and
mailed to Hohlt & File Funeral Home, PO BOX 146, Vandalia, IL
62471.
Dean was born April 20, 1930 in Fairbury, IL, son of Glen and
Bernice (Tinges) Ruff.  He married Doris Diveley Plunkett on
July 25, 1988.
Dean, along with his brothers started Long Point Grain in 1957;
later know as Ruff Bros. Grain, he farmed most of his life,
retiring in 1999.  He was affiliated with the Methodist faith,
was a member of the Livingston County Farm Bureau and in his free
time he loved to go fishing and enjoyed cooking. 
He is survived by his wife Doris Ruff of Pinckneyville, IL;
children Dianne and husband Kenneth Kuerth of Gridley, IL, Linda
and husband David Sass of Streator, IL, and Dale Ruff and wife Jody
of Long Point, IL; step children Janesa and husband Randy Whitener
of Pinckneyville, IL and Jason Plunkett and girlfriend Stephanie
Potts of Vandalia; brothers Otis Ruff and wife Marian of Streator,
IL, Gerald Ruff and wife Janice of Streator, IL, and Keith Ruff and
wife JoAnn of Pleasant Hill, IL; 5 grandchildren; 3 step
grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; along with many nieces,
nephews, and good friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
