I remember the first time I met Joe in the mid 90's. I drove mom $ dad to the Payne family reunion in Springfield at the late Leonard Payne's home. Upon arrival in Springfield we became lost. We were on a four lane highway when I saw a car tag that said PAYNE01- I pulled beside the car, rolled down the window and asked if he was a 'PAYNE' going to the reunion. He laughed and said to follow him. He never forgot that and I was always known as the hillbilly from Tennessee who hung her head out the window in the middle of Springfield. Joe has always had a special place in my heart. He will be sadly missed. All our love to the family. We love you.
