Katie was the ideal mother and became, in a way, the surrogate mom to the men of Co. B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Her late son, Ron, was one of our brothers and in later years many of us got to meet her, and Sug, and it helped fill a void, probably for them as well as us. Condolences.

peace and comfort. God be with you and the family

Megan: I read your tribute to your dear grandma on FB. You said heaven had gained an angel. I agree, but earth lost one. She was an angel and more when she took care of my grandpa, Denny Fears. We all loved here. Prayers and comfort for all, and give my love to Randy. Joni (Koonce)Springman.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.
I remember such good times as we grew up with
you and your parents. My brother Jim Walker and
I were goods friends with your brother Ronnie.
May God Bless all of you during this difficult
time. Katie and Schug are now with my mother Mary
Jane in heaven and are having a wonderful time.
Iam so sorry for your loss of Katie, she was a wonderful, caring person. Katie did so much for 2nd Chance she will never be forgotten by the rescue but most of all by me. I love you Katie.
I'm missing my dear friend, Katie, but I know she is rejoicing in her eternal home and reunited with loved ones who preceded her. When you can't have good health and do things you want to do, it is only God's will to make you happier. God has made Katie whole.
Katie has done so much for family, friends, community and church. She will be remembered fondly by so many.
I sympathize with all of Katie's family and love each of you.
Mary
