I am so sorry to hear about Paul, and your family will be in my prayers. Paul and I were very close friends when we were in high school, though I was in Altamont. Though my dad was hard-hearing, we were always surprised that he could always hear Paul's soft-spoken responses.
On Paul's 16th birthday, my sister made Paul a cake with lavender frosting. When he blew out the candles, my dad said, "There are 16 candles, but he's been driving here everyday for over a year!" He came over everyday in his blue and white Chevy. My whole family will cherish our memories of Paul.
